Program Overview
The University Center at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has partnered with the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville (UAF) to offer bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering on Fort Smith’s campus. Inspired by a request from Fort Smith-based Baldor Electric Co., students take freshman- and sophomore-level courses through UA Fort Smith, resulting in an associate’s degree. Then students complete the junior- and senior-level courses required for a baccalaureate degree through the UAF College of Engineering. Degree requirements are identical to requirements for students on the UAF campus. Upper division courses are taught in person or through distance-learning technology by faculty members of the UA College of Engineering or faculty based at the University Center at UA Fort Smith. Personnel from the College of Engineering are on-site at the University Center to provide advising services. For more information, contact:John Hamilton
