The student nurses association at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith has elected new officers for Spring, 2008.

During their busy holiday schedules, the officers found time to meet and help Santa distribute shoes to the Bost Community Center Helping Hands on 74th street. This community project is the first for this years new officers. Advisor, Judy Reeves, said that the students will submit this as one of the community projects at the National Student Nurses Convention in March, 2008, at Grapevine, Texas.
Recruitment chair, Fred James, wants to challenge every student to become an SNA member. Students may access the online application at NSNA.org. The instructors will have the applications available in the classrooms the first week of school.
The mission of the National Student Nurses Association is to mentor the professional development of future nurses and facilitate their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance.
The University of Arkansas Student Nurses Association has an educational meeting the last Monday of the month at noon in room 133 in the Pendergraft Health Sciences Center. All students are invited and lunch is provided.
