Brooke Whitney Named Miss UA Fort Smith 2006

Twenty-year-old Brooke Whitney of Springdale was crowned Miss UA Fort Smith on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Breedlove Auditorium on the campus of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.
Whitney is the daughter of Joe and Kathy Whitney and is a 2003 graduate of Springdale High School. She won the talent award and the interview award, as well as the Spirit of Miss UA Fort Smith Award, which is voted on by members of the pageant committee.
A senior education major at UA Fort Smith, Whitney now advances to the Miss Arkansas competition this summer.
First runner-up was Cassia Gray, 19, of Muldrow, daughter of Zane Gray and the late Delia Gray. Gray also won the Miss Congeniality Award.
Second runner-up was Ashton Wickett, 18, also of Muldrow, daughter of Kenneth and Suzan Wickett. Wickett also won the GPA Award and the Audience Appeal Award.
Third runner-up was Lindsey Loughmiller, 20, of Poteau, daughter of Melinda Blake-Leader and Daniel Loughmiller. Fourth runner-up was Britney Scott, 20, of Booneville, daughter of John and Tina Scott.
Brooke Bailey, 19, daughter of Don and Terri Bailey of Fort Smith, won the Psychology Award, given to the contestant studying psychology who has the highest GPA in that field.
This year, the Miss UA Fort Smith competition awarded cash scholarships totaling more then $5,300, plus scholarships from UA Fort Smith. The winner receives a two-year scholarship, and the first runner-up and the second runner up receive one-year scholarships. This brings the total scholarship offerings to almost $13,000.
