New Fall Scholarship Awards Total More Than 300

More than 300 students were awarded scholarships this fall and are attending the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, including students named to the Chancellor’s Leadership Council and those selected for the University Honors Program.
The Chancellor’s Leadership Council is the university’s merit-based award for high school seniors. Those selected for the competitive scholarships have achieved excellence in both academic and leadership performance and show promise of continuing such performance in college and beyond. Students are awarded four-year full tuition scholarships, a $2,000 housing scholarship per year, a laptop computer and a $500 book allowance, renewed annually if criteria is met.
The Honors Program offers coursework and research opportunities that challenge highly talented and motivated students. Students selected for the competitive scholarships receive four-year, full tuition scholarships, $2,000 housing scholarships per year and a $500 book allowance, renewable annually if criteria is met.
Chancellor’s Leadership Council
Sara Altmann of Bixby, Okla., has been named a Margaret Mandeville Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. Altmann is the daughter of Richard and Scottie Altmann and is a 2004 graduate of Bixby High School.
Jennifer Austin of Fort Smith has been named a Gene and Margaret Graham Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Steve and Sheila Austin and is a 2004 graduate of Fort Smith Christian School.
Breanne Brake of Mulberry has been named a Carole and Jim Williamson Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Stanley and Lora Brake and is a 2004 graduate of Mulberry High School.
Nathan D. Cantrell of West Fork has been named a Margaret Mandeville Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. He is the son of Doug Cantrell of West Fork and Dana Creek of Springdale and is a 2004 graduate of West Fork High School.
Shannon L. Ferrari of Lavaca has been named a Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Patrick and Tracy Ferrari and is a 2004 graduate of Lavaca High School.
Maria R. Galvan of Fort Smith has been named a Rosemary and Gene Rapley Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Candelario and Maria Gregoria Galvan and is a 2004 graduate of Northside High School.
Cassia L. Gray of Muldrow has been named a Mont Echols Jr. Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Zane W. Gray Jr. and is a 2004 graduate of Muldrow High School.
Shane D. Ledbetter of Roland has been named a Harry G. Barr Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. He is the son of Jeff and Frankie Ledbetter and is a 2004 graduate of Roland High School.
Brittany N. Maier of West Fork has been named a Samuel M. Sicard Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Kimberly Land and is a 2004 graduate of West Fork High School.
Mitchell L. Minnick of Broken Arrow has been named a Janice and Robert Powell Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. He is the son of Terry and Susan Minnick and is a 2004 graduate of Broken Arrow High School.
Natalie B. Neel has been named a Mary and Richard Udouj Chancellor’s Scholar at UA Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Marisu and Jerry Neel Jr. and is a 2004 graduate of Southside High School.
