UA Fort Smith Brass Camp, June 15-19, 2009

The UA Fort Smith Brass Camp is a one week intensive camp during which high school and college brass students are immersed in the art of brass playing. In addition to full ensemble and sectional rehearsals, campers will have the opportunity to play in small ensembles, attend clinic sessions, and master classes, have a private lesson with a member of our camp faculty, and hear special performances by our resident brass quintet and guest artists. The camp will be held June 15-19 from 9:00a.m.—3 p.m. in the Breedlove Building, and will culminate on Friday evening with a concert for parents, relatives, friends, and area residents. It will feature music the students have learned and rehearsed during the week. A camp faculty of outstanding musicians has been chosen to lead the campers in these musical experiences. Distinguished music teachers, performers, and conductors from around the United States will join members of our own talented UA Fort Smith music faculty to ensure that each student receives the highest quality instruction available. A resident brass quintet will provide the leadership for the camp. The camp is open to any high school or college student who plays the trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, baritone, or tuba. The cost of the camp is $150 and includes a camp t-shirt. For more information, please contact Dr. Alexandra Zacharella or by phone at 479-788-7972.
