Leighnora Buchanan - Music Education, Woodwind Ensemble

Leighnora Buchanan is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor Degree and a Masters Degree in Music Education. She is a member of Phi Beta Mu and has previously served as President of the Arkansas Bandmasters Association and the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association. She is currently the Administrative Advisor for the Arkansas Bandmasters Association. Ms. Buchanan was an Arkansas band director for 29 years, directing bands in Crossett and Van Buren, Arkansas from 1966 to 1969. She was the band director at Chaffin Junior High from 1969 to 1995. In 1993, Ms. Buchanan was named "Bandmaster of the Year" by the Arkansas Bandmasters Association. Ms. Buchanan retired from Chaffin in 1995. She serves as a band clinician and judge in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Ms. Buchanan serves as Music Education Specialist for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
