Kevin Sanders

With a Master of Music Degree in tuba performance from the famed Juilliard School of Music in New York City, Kevin Sanders is known for his artistic style and pedagogical innovations.

Mr. Sanders’ musical instincts and creative flare began to develop while attending the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, a boarding school for aspiring young artists. After graduating from Interlochen Mr. Sanders went on to attend Indiana University where he studied with legendary professor Daniel Perantoni and received his Bachelor of Music degree.

Past orchestral appearances have included the New Mexico Symphony, Spoleto USA Festival Orchestra, New World Symphony in Miami, Chicago Civic Orchestra, Columbus Philharmonic, Evansville Philharmonic, Terre-Haute Symphony, and the Camerata Orchestra. In 1999 Mr. Sanders was selected as one of nine Americans to play with the Jeunesse Musicales World Orchestra for their North American and European tours where each musician was coached by members of the Berlin Philharmonic.

Future performing appearances include the New Mexico Symphony, New World Symphony, Natural State Brass Band, Brass Engine (an ensemble based in New York City) and the nationally recognized Avatar Brass Quintet.

Kevin Sanders has studied with members of the Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Detroit, Boston and Chicago Symphonies as well as the New York Philharmonic. While in New York City, Mr. Sanders performed with the American Brass Quintet in conjunction with the faculty at the Juilliard School of Music. Additional honors include performances under the batons of Charles Dutoit and Michael Tilson Thomas in New York City’s Carnegie Hall.

Mr. Sanders has served on staff at the Interlochen Arts Camp, presented educational concerts in New York City’s numerous elementary schools, hospitals, rest homes, and businesses through Juilliard’s Community Chamber Music program.

Mr. Sanders currently serves on the faculty of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith where he teaches low brass, brass pedagogy, and conducts the University Brass Choir.
