Leisure Learning and Tours

UA Fort Smith tours are entertaining, informative, and offer a variety of activities for everyone. All tours include transportation on air-conditioned coaches (unless otherwise noted) that are in first-class condition, with drivers who are courteous and willing to assist passengers to ensure their comfort. Brochures are mailed twice each year, spring and fall, with descriptions of each trip. Ronnie Milsap Concert, Saturday, September 6

We will grab a bite to eat (included in the price) before traveling in UA Fort Smith school vans to the Alma Performing Arts Center to enjoy Ronnie Milsap. Tap your feet and sing along as the country soul singer serenades us with hits such as “Pure Love,” “Smokey Mountain Rain,” and “Stand By My Woman Man.”

State House Museum/Riverboat, Thursday, September 18

Arrive in Little Rock and tour the Old State House Museum. Set in the oldest surviving state capitol west of the Mississippi River, the Old State House Museum has been designated a National Historic Landmark. After touring the State House, climb aboard the Arkansas Riverboat Queen and enjoy a refreshing lunch as we cruise the Arkansas River.

Ozark Botanical Gardens, Thursday, October 2

Join us as we visit the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. The botanical garden celebrates the spirit of the Ozarks in beautiful themed gardens and the unique timber-framed Totemeier Horticulture Center. The garden is a place for learning and wonder for all who visit. Following the tour we will have lunch at the AQ Chicken House. A stop at Pinnacle Hills Promenade mall after lunch will give you the opportunity to walk off your delicious lunch.

Branson Landing/Noah's Ark, Thursday, October 9

Discover uncharted waterfront shopping and dining at Branson Landing, located on the waterfront of beautiful Lake Taneycomo in downtown Branson. Lunch not included. Then experience Noah the Musical complete with on-stage ark and live animals. Noah the Musical will bring the story of Noah to life like never before. It is the story of enduring faith of Noah and his family. You'll travel with Noah along his journey as he becomes overwhelmed to fulfill the wish of God, even amidst seemingly impossible odds and the scrutiny of non-believers. From experiencing the joyous sensation of Noah's work coming to fruition as he leads live animals through the crowd to actually feeling as if you are stepping inside the Ark.

Amish Farms/Christmas Lights, Thursday, December 4

Our annual trip to the Amish farm is an event well worth waiting for. The food is absolutely delicious; and after our great meal, we will leave for Tulsa to walk off some of the calories as we take in Woodland Hills Mall while we wait for darkness. From there, we will tour the beautiful lights of the Rhema Bible School and then on to Muskogee for the “Fairy Tale Lights at Honor Heights Park.” All are fun as well as beautiful. Lunch is included in the fee.
