What is the reference collection?
The Reference Collection is a group of more than 9,000 non-circulating books located on the second floor of the library beginning on Row 28. This collection includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, atlases, and other specialized information resources. Reference books are searchable by author, title, keyword, and subject headings in the online catalog. Reference books can answer factual questions such as the number of counties in Arkansas, the name of the ten largest rivers in the world, or the scientific name of the live oak tree. They can also provide valuable background information and analysis of current topics. Each row in the reference collection is numbered with the Dewey Class numbers that are shelved on that row.Second Floor
