Table of Contents Service (TOC)

Ingenta provides an efficient way of keeping up with new articles that have been published in magazines and journals in your field of interest. You decide on the periodical titles that you want in your personal "current awareness" profile. If the titles are available in the Ingenta service, the table of contents (TOC) will be sent directly to your email as each issue is published.

To sign up for the Ingenta service, please contact one of our librarians:

Please forward the Ingenta email to libloan@uafortsmith.edu with a message listing which article numbers to order. In LionsLink, you only need to forward the email to libloan. If the publication is available in our library or through a database, we will copy or print the article and send it to you. If we do not have access to the publication, we will order a photocopy of the article from another library and send it to you.

There is no charge for this service.

Note: You may order articles directly from Ingenta's commercial document delivery service using a personal credit card, however, the typical price per article is $30-$47. I'm sure you will agree, our Interlibrary Loan Service is a much better bargain.

Managing Your Ingenta Profile

You have 2 options to manage the service once your profile has been created:

• Contact one of the above librarians with titles to add or delete to the table of content service or search alert additions or changes.

• Use the following instructions to manage your own profile:
  • Connect to Ingenta
  • Enter your Username and Password
    • If you do not remember your username or password, contact one of the above librarians.
  • Click on the My Table of Contents link

To Add Titles To Your Profile

Click on the My Table of Contents link

Enter a journal title in the search box and Enter. If you get no results, the title may not be one of the 22,000+ titles in the Ingenta database. If one or more titles returns, click into the box to the left of the correct title and then click on Add Selected to List. Repeat for up to 50 titles. As each issue is published, you will receive an email with the table of contents for that issue.

To Add Research Alerts To Your Profile

Click on the My Research Alerts link

Click on Search Ingenta. Enter a search; for example libraries and wireless Enter

Click on Saved Searches

Set the Save In box to My Saved Searches or name a new folder

Click into the box to the left of the search and click on Add to Alerts.
