Honors Portfolio

Portfolio Requirements


You must compile an electronic portfolio of your work in the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Honors Program that will serve as an assessment of your accomplishments in the program. The portfolio is a requirement for graduation with an Honors degree and must be turned in to the Honors Program director following the completion of the first 21 hours of course work but no later then the spring semester of the junior year. The portfolio must be compiled using standard computer software and burned to a CD Rom.

I. Select examples of your work in the Honors Program that exhibit your Mastery Level achievement of the following abilities. These examples may be papers, exercises, creative works, oral presentations (video or written evaluation), computer documents, or other items. Certain items may be used to document more than one ability. At least one of these items should be a multi-source paper. Label each of the items according to the ability being documented and the class in which the work was completed

  • 1. Communication Skills (Writing and Speaking

  • 2. Analytical Skills

  • 3. Global and Cultural Perspectives

  • 4. Information Literacy

  • 5. Computer Literacy

    In addition to the above items, mastery level must be completed in at least one of the following:

  • 6. Scientific and Technological Literacy

  • 7. Quantitative Reasoning

  • 8. Creativity

II. Write a cover letter for the portfolio describing how and why you selected each item. What did you learn from the experience?

III. Most satisfying results:

Describe the most personally satisfying experience you have had in the Honors Program at University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. This experience may come from a class, an extracurricular activity, an event, an interaction with peers or others, etc. Please take this opportunity to share something that represents an important aspect of your Honors experience.
