Faculty teaching Honors classes are selected for their excellence as teachers and their thorough knowledge of the subject matter. These faculty exhibit the following characteristics:
- Evidence of superior teaching and learning in the classroom (use of assessment to improve learning, student and dean evaluations, innovative teaching techniques to enhance learning)
- Appropriate terminal degree or experience in the discipline
- Strong desire to work with outstanding students
- A minimum of two years college-level teaching experience
- Recommendation of the college dean
