| POSITION: | BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE (BAS) FACULTY (10-10-0116)

| EFFECTIVE DATE: | August 2010 |
| DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | Duties include teaching in the Bachelor of Applied Science program; and planning, developing, and implementing the BAS curriculum. The candidate chosen must have the ability to work with teams of industrial supervisors and other educators to continue competency identification and curriculum development. The instructional methodology will focus on utilizing interactive, self-directed, online, and traditional lecture/lab methods of learning. The instructor will design and facilitate learning experiences to contextually base student learning around the performance of tasks necessary to be effective as a manager in the industrial enterprise. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: | Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in industrial/manufacturing technology, business, management, engineering, or related area (ABD with scheduled defense date may be considered); plus two years of successful experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment. A thorough knowledge of industrial processes and management is essential; industrial experience is preferred. Although experience in a traditional academic setting is not required, evidence of successful instructional delivery is expected. Abilities may be demonstrated by evidence of previous or similar experiences. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with individuals and groups with varied backgrounds. Must be able to focus on customer satisfaction; possess a strong desire to make a positive difference; demand a high level of personal performance; and have the ability to make learning relevant to the learner. Design and implementation of this program will require the ability to think “outside the box” and explore new concepts in education. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements. |
| SALARY: | Assigned rank will be Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
