First-Time Entering Freshman Scholarships

2010-11 UA Fort Smith Academic Merit Awards for Freshman

By virtue of the Application for Admission, new freshman will be considered for the awards listed below contingent upon available funding. Merit scholarship recipients must meet all University requirements for admission and are required to maintain full-time status while receiving any of the scholarships listed below. Scholarships of Prestige

Deadline: February 1, 2010

Award	Amount	Qualifications
Chancellor's Leadership Council (CLC)	$4700 per academic year for four years for tuition and fees, two year's housing in a triple suite in the Residence Hall, a meal plan for two years (160 per semester + $200 Lions Cash), as well as a laptop computer.	25+ composite ACT score, 3.25 cumulative GPA, plus demonstration of strong leadership and academic performance. Boreham Engineering Scholarship	$4700 per academic year for four years for tuition and fees, an optional $2000 annual housing waiver for four years, and a new laptop computer.	27+ composite ACT score preferred, 3.5 cumulative GPA, and a major in either mechanical or electrical engineering. First Bank Corp. Scholarship	$4700 per academic year for four years for tuition and fees, an optional $2000 annual housing waiver for four years, and a new laptop computer.	27+ composite ACT score, 3.5 cumulative GPA, and a major in a degree program in the College of Business. Merit Scholarships

The Application for Admission serves as the application for these scholarships. There is no deadline, but they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Check the Scholarship Calculator to see what you may qualify for.

The scores below can vary, so these are the averages needed to receive these scholarships.

Academic Opportunity Scholarship	$1000 per academic year	*Average ACT score of 21 plus a GPA of 3.21

*May substitute a student's SAT score
