Apply for a Loan

The following student loan process should be completed ONLY if you have received your Award Notification from the UA Fort Smith Financial Aid Office.

First Time Stafford Loan Borrowers

First time borrowers are required to participate in student loan entrance counseling and complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN), prior to obtaining a Federal Stafford Loan. Your Entrance Counseling and MPN can be completed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by accessing the UA Fort Smith student loan website. Failure to complete both the MPN and entrance counseling in a timely manner will delay disbursement of your loan funds. In addition, all loans that are offered to you must be accepted utilizing your LionsLink account.

Parent PLUS Loans

If your parents are interested in a Plus Loan, they must initiate the application process by visiting the UA Fort Smith student loan website. Your parent(s) will use their own name and social security number to apply for this loan. In addition to the online application, a credit check will be performed. If an adverse credit history exists, your parent(s) may be denied the PLUS loan.

Continuing Borrowers

As a continuing Stafford Loan borrower, you must accept any loans offered to you by utilizing your LionsLink account. You have previously completed both your entrance counseling and master promissory note (MPN).
