Private & Alternative loans

Private and alternative loans are available to students who have been awarded the maximum amounts for the academic year, according to Federal guidelines. These loans are sponsored by banks and other private lending institutions. Interest rates and repayment schedules may widely vary. Even though these loans are not a part of the Stafford or PLUS borrowing programs, the Financial Aid Office here at UA Fort Smith must still certify these loans before funds will be disbursed.
