Access - Destiny Supplemental Instructional Program

An exciting collaboration that brings early childhood, middle school and secondary education majors together with local public school professionals is the College of Education’s supplemental tutoring program. The program provides focused instruction in reading and mathematics. The program is guided by several early childhood faculty members who work closely with pre-service teacher/tutors to research, plan, implement and assess learning experiences for more than three-hundred-fifty children at seven Fort Smith public schools. A special learning celebration is hosted by the College of Education as the Stubblefield Center is transformed into a giant classroom where children experience quality instruction as they “Learn with the Lions.”
