Chris Lowry

Chris Lowry begins his first season as assistant men's basketball coach after serving as the director of basketball operations at the University of Arkansas - Little Rock the past three seasons.

As UALR’s director of basketball operations, Lowry coordinated the video exchange program, team travel and meals, organized community relations events, supervised study hall and monitored academic progress.

Prior to his three seasons at UALR, Lowry was an assistant coach at San Bernardino Valley College (2003-04), where he helped guide the Wolverines to the first round of the California state playoffs.

Lowry also has a high school coaching background having been assistant varsity coach at Riverside Poly High School (2001-03), where he helped lead the Bears to their first Ivy League championship in 19 years and to two-consecutive playoff appearances. He also had coaching stints at San Gorgonio High School (2000-01), helping the team earn its first playoff appearance in 15 years, and at Yucaipa High School (1999-2000).

A native of Moreno Valley, Calif., Lowry is a graduate of Canyon Springs High School, where he led Canyon to consecutive Mountain View League championships (1988-89, 1989-90).

He played one season at Chaffey College (1990-91) and San Bernardino Valley College (1992-93) before finishing his college career at the University of California - Riverside, where he helped lead the Highlanders to two CCAA championships, an appearance in the NCAA Division II Sweet 16 (1993-94) and a national runner-up finish (1994-95).
