Black Flash

Arched neck.
Sun glints on shimmering mane,
Clods of dirt flying at the piston’s pounding.

Sunflash of bold eye
And flare of defiant nostrils.
Proud toss of head.

Running.
Sprinting.
Racing.

The trees bow at the passing
Of black flashing.
Like a moment in time.

It pauses to gaze upon me,
It’s pistons paused in mid-air.
I see it.

Wind.
Moment.
Horse.
