Self - Directed Search

The Self-Directed Search (SDS) is an interest inventory workbook. Your interests are classified into six basic types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional (RIASEC), the SDS enables individuals to choose careers and fields of study that best match their self-reported skills and interests.

SDS workbooks may be picked up at Student Advisement & Career Planning, located on the second floor of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, open 8 AM – 6 PM Monday – Thursday and 9 AM – 5 PM on Friday. An academic advisor will assist you with completing and understanding the results of your assessment during Individual Career Planning.
