Researching Your Career

When exploring careers you need to research basic information such as job descriptions, employment statistics, job outlook, potential earnings and educational requirements. After researching careers that you are most interested in, you may find some are not appealing. Your objective is to eventually narrow down your choices to one or two careers. Some websites that provide the basic information are:

After narrowing down your career choices, your research will become more detailed. You can schedule an appointment to meet with an Academic Advisor in Student Advisement & Career Planning. An advisor can assist you in learning about various occupations through Career Interviews, internships, volunteering, Student Organizations, and the Career Resource Center.
