Kate Frank is a native of San Diego and earned her B.A. in theater from UCLA in 1983. She worked extensively as a professional actress at the San Diego Repertory Theater, the San Diego Old Globe Theater, and the Metro Theater Co., a nationally touring theater company for young audiences based in St. Louis. Kate attended the three-year teacher-training course at the Alexander Training Institute in San Francisco, earning her certification in 1992. She recently received her degree as a Master of Fine Arts in Directing at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she directed productions of
This is Our Youth,
Perebanez,
Psychic Pizza, and
The Night of the Iguana. She currently teaches the Alexander Technique for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in both the Drama and Music Departments.
In collaboration with ArtsLive! and the Northwest Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Kate directed a successful production of
Peter and the Wolf, which performed for three consecutive seasons. Her most recent directing assignments in clued the children’s opera
Hansel and Gretel for the Opera Theater Program at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and
Much Ado About Nothing at the Northwest Arkansas Community College.
