Connect with the Academy Children's Choir!

The Children's Choir is an extraordinary group of students grades 3 - 9 from across the region. This select group performs in concert each semester at the University. They tour, sing for special community events and with professional groups, and perform
at festivals and competitions. If you like to sing and want to connect with kids from all over, this is the group for you! No experience
is necessary to join this group.

Under the direction of Nancy Mathis, the choir will perform music ranging from pop to jazz to classical to sacred. Beginning in the Fall 2009, we will be offering two choirs: Grades 3-6 meet every Monday 4:00-5:30. Grades 6-9 meet every Tuesday 6:00-7:30. 6th graders have the option of joining either choir.

Show Choir Kidz

This ensemble, made up of students from children's choir who like to sing and dance, is charged with energy. The Kidz perform music ranging from Disney to pop to jazz to country, all choreographed for precision and showmanship! The Kidz are led by Gini Law and tour each semester to area schools and perform on the Children's Choir Concerts presented at the University. You must be part of Children's Choir to participate in Show Choir. The group rehearses Wednesday from 4:00-5:30 in the Echols Conference Center.

Students may also audition at the scheduled rehearsal times on August 24, 25, 26 or call Dr. Walker at (479) 788-7546 to schedule an audition time.

Tuition

Tuition for Children's Choir is $225 for the 2009-2010 school year. You may pay in 2 or 3 equal payments, with the first payment due on or before the first day of choir rehearsal, the second payment due on or before September 21, 2009 and the third payment due on or before October 26, 2009.

Tuition for Show Choir Kidz is $50 for the 2009-2010 school year and is due in full prior to the first rehearsal on August 26, 2009.

Multi-student families will receive a $10 discount for the second and each additional student within the family. Employees of the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith will receive a $25 discount per child.
